Tata Motor is all set to launch the world's "cheapest car"- Nano. Though officially the company is still to announce the launching date, sources said Nano was likely to hit the road next month probably on March 03, the birthday anniversary of Tata groups founder Jamsetji Tata. Initially Nano is likely to be offered to "select customers, including celebrities, sports persons and leading politicians as the part of Tata Motors Plan to recreate the hype and excitement which were when the Rupees 1 Lakh car was first unveiled before the world in the auto expo 2008. Tata Motors is still trying to recover from the set back it suffered due to the singur land row that leads to the scrapping of it production facility in west Bengal, which was then shifted to Gujarat. Now it wanted to make the launching event memorial an historical through the grand launching, it also wanted to erase the bad publicity that the company and the nation got int the world media due to the land dispute that delayed The Nano Launch. Through the mass production of Nano will takes some time as the new manufacturing facility at Sanand near Hyderabad will take months to complete, the Tata Motors has been gearing for small scale production of Nano form its new plans pantnagar (Uttarakhand) also from pune. The company had already completed field trails of Nano in the Kumaon hills in Uttarakhand while its senior officers are busy these days taken Nano to various places of region important to seek divine blessings. The sources said Tata group head Rathan Tata, the brain behind the ambitious project, has instructed officers that Nano be taken to all important shrine across the country before the launching. Tata Motors had already taken the Nano to the Golden Temple in the Amritsar and also to Khawaja Moinudeen Chistis Dargha in Ajmer. Nano car was driven hundreds of Km to these places of pilgrimage. The booking amount for Nano is likely to be Rupees around 70,000 the company has launched the price of Nano between Rs 1 Lakh and Rs 1.3 lakhs. Initially the company would take booking of just 1 lakh as the mass production vehicle could be possible only by 2010, and till then only 3,000 car a month like to be manufactured.
